Is the honeymoon phase with your job over? If you hate going to work and just lost the spark, take your time to think about ending this toxic relationship, because you need a new job. There are a few unequivocal signs you should run from your current job position. Here they come:
- You spend every Sunday having nightmares about Monday.
- You are always anxious, a-l-w-a-y-s.
- You constantly talk (ehm, complain) about your job.
- You can’t wait to get home and pour you some wine.
- You are asked to do minor tasks and are given less responsibilities.
- You take your office at home – and your partner hates it.
- You have a terrible boss.
If you feel like “that’s so me!” while reading this, you should definitely start looking for a new job. It happens to everybody to have bad days or weeks at work. However, it’s not supposed to last for long periods and make you feel resentful. I think there are different stages of “I’m over it, I need a new job”, so talk to your boss before doing anything wreckless. Also, maybe you didn’t read the signs correctly and you can fix what’s bothering you. If you just can’t bare to spend one more minute at the office, don’t put it off and leave. Your health will benefit from it.
So, do you need a new job? Whether you want to be a bartender or an engineer, I suggest to start looking for new job opportunities before leaving your current employer. You know you need a new job, but it shouldn’t put your financial situation at risk. So, take your time to relax and regenerate and start thinking about your next step – sanity first.
